Yellow is such a cheery color and one that pairs well with any color scheme. Polventon Supreme dahlias are another tall and robust plant producing big ball flower on sturdy stems. At any point in time during the main blooming season, you can expect 8-12 blooms and even the lateral buds are pretty strong. Occasionally the ball flower is heavier then the stem can support, but this is an infrequent occurrence that can be avoided by pinching laterals of a main stem early in bud development. This practice encourages larger balls too. Ball flowers are a fun addition to the garden and are admired by many. Their centers are only visible at the very end of the flowers life. Be prepared for to grow a lot of foliage and flowers, so it needs a bit more space in the garden. Avoid crowding this plant. It also produces nice tubers in the fall.

We scored Polventon Supreme as a bonus tuber to an order placed a number of years ago. We were looking for more yellow and this seemed like a nice addition. The plant is AMAZING and our mother fell in love with it. Every trip, every bouquet she put together included several Polventon Supreme blooms. We love the large plant, large blooms, number of blooms, and great stems. So in honor of mom, Polventon Supreme stays a yearly plant in the dahlia patch.
