  • Early Maarn bloom with tightly curled petals.
  • A older flower, this Maarn bloom is starting to show pollen in the center and is surrounded by a green background.
  • Tuber mass from 2022 of Maarn with clean and healthy crowns.

We love a nice solid orange bloom. Maarn Dahlias provide astounding and proliferative blooms, perfect to leave some in the garden for color while taking others for the vase. The stalks are long and strong. Each petal is beautifully curled. The plant appears to be a solid producer of leaves and foliage to support the floral demands. Towards the end of the bloom life, the centers will open and present pollen. Our research suggests that Maarn and Sylvia Ball dahlias are very similar if not identical plants.

We started with Sylvia Ball dahlias in our original 30. We grew it for several years and then lost the tubers to storage in winter 2022. We needed a bright orange ball and through research, discovered that Maarn has many of the same attributes. So far, Maarn produces just as well with numerous blooms.
