Crossfield Ebony Dahlias

Crossfield Ebony is a mischievous little pom pom variety that in early season has a more purple tone and then drops into it’s burgundy color expression with later blooms. Often flowers would sport a combination of burgundy to the center and lighter color around the edges. Our plants bloomed and bloomed, cranking out petite 1-2 inch balls on relatively short stems, so they were not used very often on bouquets. The plants were somewhat crowded, but grew amidst their neighbors to about 3 foot tall.
