Nadine Jessie is a striking dark purple dahlia that can photograph with a bit of pink to it’s blooms. This plant has a unique presentation of an almost silver colored lace line at the tips. It has nice stems and blooms productively over the season on a four foot tall plant. It produced an abundance of tubers, particularly the 2021 season which seemed to be a bumper crop year for tubers.

We started growing this variety when we expanded from our initial 30 varieties. We were drawn to this plant because we really liked the semicactus Miss Rose Fletcher and Peach Fuzz. Ours did rather heavily show the sliver lining to the petals, but we found we didn’t cut it for arrangements as often as others and while it had a nice vase life as promised, when it came time to make room for other varieties, we felt we had too many semicactus varieties and wanted more water lilies. We did really like the purple color and if we had a bigger fence, this one would be back in a heart beat.
