Picasso Dahlia
Dahlias that blend colors are always a fun addition to the garden and arrangements. Picasso Dahlias quickly became a favorite adding splashes of color to the white bloom. This prolific bloomer adds nice stems to bouquets. We are constantly amazed and how many blooms Picasso produces and they almost never open their centers. The plant is moderately sized and can tolerate some crowding. Picasso Dahlias works well surrounded with reds, of can blend in with pink and yellow plants. We love pairing this bloom with Holly Hill Black Beauty.
After our first year of dahlias, we added another 20 to the fold. Picasso and Hulin’s Carnival were added at the same time, but we really loved Picasso. It was more white with less striping than Hulin’s Carnival. Honestly, if we knew what we were doing and labeled better, we would probably still be growing Hulin’s Carnival too, but we loved Picasso the best and filled the space with more Picasso flowers. Its really an amazing plant. We also like Picasso for another connection to our horses. We have an Appaloosa that is a nearly black solid horse, except in summer when he develops white dime size spots. He looks like the famous Picasso painting Stary Night. This horse is a special, steady, reliable, equine who carries Nichole over 200 miles every summer in the wilds of Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
