Spooktacular Dahlia
The long stemmed, petite flower of Spooktacular dahlias is a fun addition to our garden. The plant itself is small and bushy, around 3.5 feet tall. Off the plant grows these amazingly long stems. The flower is a nice red color, with hints of burgundy and a green center. They have a green center, which won’t win you awards at dahlia shows as the American Dahlia Society rules prohibit green centers. As the bloom matures, the green center gets smaller. The blooms are only 2-3 inches wide with an upright habit that work well as a filler flower in bouquets. It also seems to pump out the blooms s there are several blooms at any one time. We have been pinching the side buds to make sure the stems are strong and long. Note in our climate we have found with the blooms off the top of the plant, we have an overall height closer to 5 feet.
