Refund and Returns Policy

Overview

The truth of a living and perishable product for refunds and returns policy. As a small back yard farm, each tuber is personally hand dug, cleaned, inspected, labeled and stored. We only offer tubers that have been in our garden for several years so we can assess any bacterial and viral diseases ahead of time. Weak plants and plants that seem symptomatic for virus are culled. However, WSU and the ADS estimate is 87% of dahlias have a viral disease and we make no claims to be a virus free garden.

Tubers are sold that have an active eye. All tubers have been observed 2-3 times before shipping for an eye that is 2mm-10mm in length. We do the best to avoid sending a blind tuber. Please email [email protected] with a picture of the tuber in question. At least 1 picture needs to include the label we wrote on the tuber.

Our refund policy for blind tubers lasts 5 days from purchase. We can not control how the tubers are stored after you receive them and as a perishable product – heat, light, moisture can all kill a living plant. Once 5 days have passed since the USPS shows the package arriving at the address you shipped to, the sale is final. Please inspect tubers immediately if you are concerned.

If you purchase tuber seconds aka ugly tubers, they will have an active eye, but may be small, starting to wrinkle or are softer, or thin necked. Tuber seconds are not guaranteed and non-refundable. All sales of tuber seconds are final.

Fall shipped tubers are purchase at the buyers risk and we will not assume liability for your storage practices. Fall shipped tubers will have an eye at the time of dividing. They may or may not still be visible when they arrive to the buyer as the tubers go dormant for winter.

Tubers need to be planted in the current growing season. We can not be help the way you store them after arrival, the soil conditions you grow them in, or the watering practices you have. You should know that some composted soil additives may have been made with plants that carried bacteria, viruses, or with plants that were treated with chemicals. These can impact how your tuber thrives. We are not responsible for your choice of soil additives once the tubers are in your possession.

As a live product, we will send living tubers, but can not be responsible for the death of a tuber in your garden. Many examples of things you should consider in trying to grow dahlias includes: rot associated with your gardens growing conditions, rodents eating tubers, insects attacking tubers, too much water or too little water, and any other circumstances we have no control over.

We do not offer returns, but will consider refunds for blind tubers. We ask that you dig the tuber after 5 weeks in the ground (35 days). Gently wash off the tuber with water and send two photos of the tuber neck on both sides. Please make sure the photos are of good quality and include the whole tuber in the photo, as well as the handwritten label and email these photos. To learn and do better, this information can help us improve and prevent sending blind tubers in the future.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 7 -10 business days.

Exchanges

If we still have tubers on hand when you advise us of a problem tuber, we will exchange the tuber.
