Bride To Be Dahlia
The softest hint of yellow at the center of this crisp white flower is a delight. Bride To Be Dahlias make smaller flowers and sit on a compact plant. We like this dahlia for the same reason we like Lemon Tart; the compact size makes it perfect for borders or adding color in front of taller varieties. You will be amazed at the number of blooms produced by this variety and although the plants are shorter, they bloom with the best. There are numerous tubers in the fall and the tubers are smaller ranging 2-3 inches typically. The white waterlily flower makes a stark contrast with the deep green foliage. Next to Groovy, this is our second best tuber producer. Each year we get dense tuber masses and often pull a dozen or more new tubers of the plant. It’s not just us that noticed the workhorse production of Bride To Be. In feedback from a purchaser from the 2022 season, we were told Bride To Be preformed the best in tuber production in their yard too.
We’ve be growing Bride To Be Dahlias since the start of our adventures with Dahlias. Originally selected for its size and color, we have continued to plant several tubers because the flowers look lovely in arrangements and we like the volume of blooms it produces. Whites go well in nearly every flower arrangement and these flowers have a reasonable vase life for dahlias.
